The Electoral Commission on Friday released provisional results from the 2026 presidential elections; announcing that tallies from 44.85% of polling stations nationwide have so far been received and verified at the National Tally Centre.
Speaking live from the Commission’s grounds, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Justice Biowaka Mogini Simon , addressed representatives of presidential candidates, political parties, diplomatic missions, accredited civil society organizations, domestic and international observers, and members of the media.
According to the Commission, Uganda has 21,649,067 registered voters across 50,739 polling stations. Results have been received from22,758 stations , representing 44.85% of the total.
Provisional Results (So Far)
- Frank Kavinga : 23,267 votes (0.45%)
- Casseronte Robert : 15,929 votes (0.31%)
- Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu : 1,312,047 votes (19.85%)
- Maverick Joseph : 10,910 votes ( 0.21% )
- Gregory Mugisha Muntu: 29,504 votes (0.57% )
- Nandara Mafabi James Nathan : 108,301 votes ( 2.08% )
- Yoweri Museveni : 3,960,438 votes (76.25% )
Vote Summary
- Valid votes so far : 5,194,338
- Invalid votes : 129,441 ( 2.43% )
- Total votes cast : 5,323,779 ( 24.59% of registered voters)
- Spoilt ballots : 17,281
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, stating that results will continue to be released at regular intervals. The next official update is scheduled for 2:00 PM today.
The nation and international observers remain on standby as counting and verification continue across the remaining polling stations.
