The officer’s lifeless body was discovered in her home in the Osingo area of Suna East Sub-County in the early hours of December 25. Police say she was found lying in a pool of blood beside her bed, with visible injuries including a deep cut wound on the forehead, and indications that she may also have been strangled. The circumstances surrounding her death immediately raised suspicion, prompting detectives to treat the incident as a murder case.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the officer had returned home from the barracks shortly before the incident occurred, believed to be around 1.00am. When police officers and forensic experts arrived at the scene, they found signs of a struggle, and it was later established that two of the deceased’s mobile phones were missing from the house.
In a significant development, the officer’s husband, a 33-year-old man, was taken into custody to assist police with investigations.
According to police, the man told officers that he arrived home and found the door open before discovering his wife lying injured inside the house. He is currently being held at Migori Police Station as detectives record statements and piece together the final moments leading to the officer’s death.
