Alexander Isak’s Newcastle Standoff Turns Ugly – Liverpool’s Bid Rejected as Sam Allardyce Urges Drastic Action

Newcastle United are facing a huge problem with their star striker, Alexander Isak. The Swedish forward has made it clear he will not play for the club again, and now his future is uncertain.

Isak has been training away from the rest of the Newcastle first team. He is refusing to join matches or team activities, no matter what happens in the transfer market. This has left the club stuck in a tense situation.

Earlier this month, Liverpool made a £110 million offer to sign Isak. Newcastle immediately rejected it. The club said at the time that their star striker was not for sale.

Since then, no new offers have come in from Liverpool or any other big club. Liverpool are not expected to make another bid unless Newcastle show they are ready to sell.

Former Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce has given his thoughts on the crisis. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said the club now has only two choices, sell Isak for the best possible price or leave him in the reserves.

“Sell him. I’d sell him, I’d go for the best price,” Allardyce said. “Once a player makes his mind up as determined as he is, there’s nothing else you can do role-wise.”

Isak has been one of Newcastle’s most important players. He has scored 62 goals in 109 appearances for the club. He also still has three years left on his contract. That means Newcastle have the power to keep him if they want.

But Allardyce believes keeping him against his will could get messy. “I suppose if he stays away, the only thing you do is don’t pay him,” he said. “But that becomes a situation where nobody wins.”

The 69-year-old former boss even suggested a tougher approach: “Unless the board are strong enough to say ‘let him rot, we’ll go and buy you another centre-forward’ – that’s the best way to deal with it.”

He warned that players refusing to honour contracts is becoming a trend in football. “Somebody has to stand up to a player, or players, that are gonna start doing this on a regular basis,” Allardyce said.

Newcastle’s owners will also be thinking about Isak’s value. Forcing him to sit out for months could lower his market price. That is a risk they may not want to take.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have other striker problems. Callum Wilson left the club earlier this summer when his contract ended. That leaves the Magpies with fewer attacking options.

The club is interested in Yoane Wissa from Brentford. He is also not training with his club right now. However, sources say this transfer is separate from the Isak situation and not a direct replacement plan.

With the Premier League season underway, the standoff with Isak is a distraction Newcastle don’t need. Fans are worried that the team could struggle if they lose their top scorer without bringing in a strong replacement.

Liverpool’s interest has added extra drama to the saga. Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to strengthen their attack, and Isak’s pace and finishing would make him a big asset.

But Newcastle’s refusal to sell for £110 million shows they will not be bullied into a quick deal. Still, if the situation drags on, pressure from both sides may force them to reconsider.

Allardyce’s message to Newcastle was clear: act fast, and don’t let the problem ruin the season. Whether that means cashing in on Isak or showing him tough love, the decision will shape the club’s future.

For now, the Swedish striker’s boots remain on the sidelines. And until Newcastle make their move, the Alexander Isak transfer saga will continue to dominate headlines.
