Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have officially said their final goodbyes to Wicked as Wicked: For Good the concluding chapter of the two-part musical adaptation continues to dominate cinemas worldwide.
Grande, 32, and Erivo, 38, who portray Glinda and Elphaba respectively, shared heartfelt messages on social media, marking the end of a journey that has defined their careers over the past several years.
On Instagram, Grande posted never-before-seen behind-the-scenes images from the film, writing:
“Thank you, my sweet Glinda, for everything. I will love you always … Wicked: For Good is out now.”

Erivo also penned an emotional tribute, reflecting on the impact of stepping into Elphaba’s iconic green shoes:
“I could write you an essay, a poem, Shakespearean prose, to describe what this journey has meant to me… The truth is the numbers are too small and the words are not enough.
So I’ll simply say this: ‘Take my hand and walk with me to the end of this road paved with gold… Thank you for letting me be your Elphaba.’”
The official Wicked account released a video montage celebrating the actresses’ friendship, captioned:

Since its theatrical release on November 21, 2025 , Wicked: For Good has shattered expectations, debuting with:
$150 million in the U.S.
$76 million internationally
$226 million global total to date
This makes it the highest-grossing domestic opening for a stage-to-screen musical adaptation, surpassing the first film, Wicked (2024), which opened with $112.5 million.
The Final Chapter of Oz
Based on the second half of the Tony Award–winning Broadway musical, Wicked: For Good explores the emotional conclusion of Glinda and Elphaba’s intertwined destinies, as the Good Witch faces an impossible choice between loyalty to her best friend and allegiance to the Wizard of Oz, played by Jeff Goldblum.

Director Jon M. Chu admitted he is still struggling to process that his multi-year journey with the films has come to an end.
“When you live with something for five-plus years… it sticks with you. I have not processed it yet,” Chu told People .
“Everyone was emotional. I kept thinking, ‘I’ll see you next week,’ but the office is empty now… It’s one big story to me, and now I get to let it go
