Arsenal’s summer transfer window is catching fire as the Gunners close in on several high-impact deals, with Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres now on the verge of becoming their marquee signing.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s side has also made bold moves to secure the club’s future, signing youth stars Louis Zecevic-John and hijacking Liverpool’s pursuit of teenage sensation Will Wright.

After weeks of speculation, the Viktor Gyokeres saga is nearing its final chapter. The Swedish striker has reportedly packed his bags as Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon reach an agreement on a massive €73.5 million (£63.5m) fee.
Portuguese media even caught a removal van outside Gyokeres’ house, confirming the transfer is all but done. A friend of the 27-year-old forward was seen overseeing the move, signaling just how close Arsenal are to landing their man.

Final discussions are ongoing over personal terms, but Gyokeres is expected to fly out soon to join the Gunners on their Asian pre-season tour.
Arsenal aren’t stopping there. The club has already welcomed Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard to North London, with sporting director Andrea Berta actively working behind the scenes on more reinforcements.
Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has reportedly completed his medical, while Valencia’s Cristian Mosquera is also closing in on a move.
But Arsenal’s ambition extends beyond the present. Seventeen-year-old Louis Zecevic-John has just signed his first professional contract after an impressive season with the academy, tallying seven goals and seven assists in 22 appearances.
Inspired by first-team breakthroughs like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, Zecevic-John is eager to seize his opportunity. “They’re only a few years above me… now they’re starting for Arsenal,” he told the club’s official site. “They’re huge inspirations.”
Perhaps the most headline-grabbing youth move, though, is Arsenal’s last-minute swoop to snatch 17-year-old Will Wright from Liverpool’s grasp.
Initially headed to Anfield, the Salford City striker is now heading to North London after Arsenal trumped the Reds’ offer.
The Gunners’ bid, worth £250,000 plus add-ons, was more than double Liverpool’s proposal. Wright, who’s been on the radar of Manchester City, Leicester, Brentford, and Burnley, is another signal of Arsenal’s determination to dominate both the present and future.
With the club jetting off for their pre-season tour and Arteta’s project growing ever more ambitious, Arsenal’s transfer business is sending a message loud and clear: the Gunners mean business in the 2025/26 season.
