The National Police Service has reported a significant breakthrough in ongoing peace and disarmament operations after four illegal firearms were voluntarily handed over in Tangulbei, Baringo County. The surrender took place in Orus Location, Tiaty East Sub-County, marking another step forward in strengthening security across the region.
According to authorities, the recovered weapons included four rifles, four magazines, and eight rounds of ammunition. All items have since been secured and will undergo further administrative procedures as part of the government’s continued crackdown on illegal arms.
Security officials say the voluntary surrender signals a growing sense of confidence among local residents, who are increasingly supporting state-led initiatives aimed at ending decades of insecurity in the region.
This latest handover pushes Baringo County’s total recoveries to 396 illegal firearms and 1,503 rounds of ammunition, achieved through a combination of community collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint security operations.
