Shock Twist in Benjamin Sesko Transfer: Manchester United Slash Star’s Value Amid Swap Deal Rumors

Manchester United fans have been buzzing with excitement and confusion after new reports linked the club with RB Leipzig’s star striker Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian striker, who has been in great form at just 22 years old, has become one of the top targets for United’s summer transfer plans.  

But what’s creating the biggest headlines isn’t just United’s interest, it’s the idea that Rasmus Hojlund might be used as part of a swap deal. 

Yes, you heard that right. 

Some reports suggest that Manchester United may include Hojlund, the 22-year-old Danish striker, in a possible trade to bring Sesko to Old Trafford. This comes only two years after United spent a massive £72 million to sign Hojlund from Atalanta. 

Hojlund was supposed to be the club’s main striker for the future. However, after a rocky period at the club and only a few standout performances, United now believe his market value has dropped significantly, to around £45 million. That’s a drop of £27 million in just two years. 

Meanwhile, Sesko’s value has skyrocketed. The talented forward is expected to cost around £65–£70 million, with RB Leipzig also demanding extra fees like add-ons and a percentage of future sales. 

If United were to offer Hojlund in a swap, they would still need to pay Leipzig extra money to match Sesko’s current value. While the idea of a swap has been floated by insiders, it seems unlikely to happen, at least for now. 

Adding fuel to the fire, Leipzig is reportedly interested in Hojlund. The Bundesliga side, who helped Sesko explode onto the scene, may want to revive Hojlund’s form under their own coaching system. But would Manchester United really give up on a young talent so soon? 

When asked about the rumors, Hojlund made it clear he isn’t planning on leaving Old Trafford. In fact, his response showed determination and ambition. 

“I think my plan is very clear,” Hojlund said. “That is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. I’m still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I’m only 22.” 

He also added that competition only makes him better and that he’s feeling sharp and ready after a good pre-season. His goal is to keep growing and prove himself, even if Sesko or any other striker arrives. 

“Competition is fine with me. It sharpens me. I’m more than ready. I’m welcoming everything that comes,” he declared confidently. 

United manager Ruben Amorim sees Sesko as his top striker option, ahead of others like Ollie Watkins. But it won’t be easy to land the Leipzig star. The German side wants a big fee, and United might need to sell other players first to afford the move. 

Players like Jadon Sancho, Antony, and even Alejandro Garnacho have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford. Selling them could give United the funds they need for a serious offer. 

Despite all the transfer drama, one thing is clear: United is looking to upgrade their attack. Whether that involves Hojlund staying and fighting or being part of a swap deal remains to be seen. 

Sesko, for his part, is believed to prefer a move to Manchester United over other clubs like Newcastle. That gives the Red Devils an edge, but only if they can meet Leipzig’s asking price. 

At the moment, no final deal has been made. But fans can expect more twists and turns before the summer window closes. One thing’s for sure: Manchester United’s striker situation is heating up, and the decisions made now could shape the club’s future for years.
