He believes his new club will help him grow and become an even better player.
Manchester United had a hard time scoring goals last season. They only managed 44 goals in the whole Premier League campaign.
Mbeumo hopes he will be the solution to that problem. He is confident he can help the team score more goals.
The good news for United fans is that Mbeumo is not just a regular striker. He can play in many different positions.
He can play as a left winger, right winger, number 10, or even a number 9. This gives his new coach, Ruben Amorim, many options.
“In football today, you have to be flexible,” Mbeumo said. “At Brentford, I played in many positions, and that helped me a lot.”
He added, “I will play wherever the manager wants me to play. I am ready to help the team in any role.”
Mbeumo also had offers from other top Premier League clubs. He revealed that Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham all showed interest in him.
But after speaking with United manager Ruben Amorim, he made his choice.
“I spoke to some other managers because I wanted to hear their plans,” Mbeumo said. “But the Manchester United project was the one that felt right.”
He added, “I love a challenge, and I believe there’s a great challenge here at United. That’s why I picked this team.”
Mbeumo said he trusted the people around him during the transfer window. He stayed patient and waited for the right move.
“I was on holiday when it was happening,” he said. “I just wanted to rest mentally and physically.”
“But I always felt this transfer would happen. I believed in it.”
The conversation with Amorim helped seal the deal. The coach made Mbeumo feel excited about joining the team.
“The manager told me, ‘We are people who like winning and we want to be the best team.’ I liked that,” Mbeumo explained.
He added, “Old Trafford is one of the greatest stadiums in the world. Playing there every two weeks is a dream.”
Fans are now excited to see what Mbeumo can do in a Manchester United shirt.
He is full of ambition, energy, and belief in himself and the team.
With his goal target set high and his desire to play on the biggest stage, Mbeumo is ready to become a fan favorite at Old Trafford.
Now, all eyes will be on him as the new season begins. Can he beat last season’s 20-goal record? United fans surely hope so.
