Manchester United’s long-running pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo has taken yet another twist, as the Brentford star continues to fuel speculation about a move to Old Trafford with subtle, but powerful, hints on social media.
Despite Brentford’s resistance and a transfer fee exceeding £60 million, Mbeumo has made it increasingly clear that he is ready for a fresh challenge with one of the Premier League’s most iconic clubs.

The Red Devils, under the direction of new manager Ruben Amorim, remain highly interested in bolstering their attacking options, and Mbeumo is at the top of their list.
Now, fans have spotted another sign of Mbeumo’s intentions. The forward recently liked an Instagram post by French defender Leny Yoro, who shared an image of himself back in Manchester United training with the caption: “ReUnited.”

While there is no known connection or previous link between the two players, the interaction immediately raised eyebrows, especially as Yoro’s post also garnered likes from current United stars Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.
The move is being seen by many as a deliberate hint from Mbeumo, whose desire to join United is no longer a well-kept secret. The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, scoring 20 goals, including one against the very club he now seems eager to join.
United have already seen multiple bids for Mbeumo rejected by Brentford, who remain firm in their valuation. However, personal terms are not expected to be a hurdle. Mbeumo stands to see his wages surge to over £200,000-a-week should he complete the transfer.
Manchester United have so far only made one major signing this summer, Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves, after triggering his release clause. But Amorim is determined to bring more firepower to the club’s front line, and Mbeumo is seen as a perfect fit for the system he’s building.
Brentford, for their part, are used to high-profile exits. Just last summer, Ivan Toney departed for a record fee. But according to club director of football Phil Giles, they won’t sell Mbeumo unless the price is absolutely right.
“He had a fantastic season,” Giles said recently. “We expected big interest in him, we have had big interest in him. He has his ideas about where he wants to take his career. He is well within his rights to do that. It is not impossible he is still a Brentford player next season if we agree he is going to stay.”
For now, Mbeumo remains a Bee, but his latest Instagram activity suggests the desire to wear the famous red shirt is burning brighter than ever. The ball is now in Manchester United’s court to come back with a bid that finally unlocks the door to this high-stakes transfer saga.
