Bryan Mbeumo has just joined Manchester United, and he already knows who he wants as his new teammate: Ollie Watkins.

The 24-year-old winger, who moved from Brentford to Manchester United in a big £71 million transfer, has called Watkins the “complete striker”, and he wants the Red Devils to sign him.

This comes as United manager Ruben Amorim searches for a new centre-forward. His top target? Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins. Amorim believes Watkins can lead the Manchester United attack next season. But there’s one issue: Aston Villa wants £60 million for their striker, which is £15 million more than United is willing to spend.

Despite the cost, Mbeumo’s open admiration for Watkins could push the club to take action. The two players were teammates at Brentford before Watkins left for Aston Villa. They built a strong relationship both on the pitch and off it.

Speaking about Watkins, Mbeumo said, “He’s really complete. He can do a lot of things. He can drop with the set or go in behind the defence. That’s really good for a winger like me. You can use the space he creates.”

Mbeumo praised Watkins’ ability to link up with teammates. “He can combine as well,” he said. “So I think it’s really good to play with someone like him.”

The winger also spoke about their personal bond. “It’s really important to have a good relationship off the pitch with your teammates. After my English got better, I could talk more with him. That helped us a lot.”

Mbeumo’s words come at an important time for United. The team is rebuilding under Amorim, and they need a reliable striker to lead their front line. Watkins, who has impressed at Aston Villa and for England, fits that description.

On the “Rio Ferdinand Presents” podcast, Mbeumo also discussed what he brings to the team. “The coach has his ideas,” he said. “But it’s the players who make the show happen.”

He explained that he enjoys structure and clear instructions from the coach but also likes to be free in attack. “In the final third, you have to be creative,” he said. “I like creativity and moving around the pitch. I don’t like staying in one position.”

Mbeumo believes football is about balance, following the manager’s plan while also expressing yourself on the pitch. “You have to respect the rules and principles, but after that, it’s just you and your football.”

His comments show that he’s ready to play with flair and purpose for United. But clearly, he believes the team can be even better with Ollie Watkins up front.

Watkins has had a strong season with Aston Villa. He’s known for his sharp runs, strong finishes, and clever movement. At 29 years old, he brings experience and energy, exactly what United might need.

If United manages to agree a deal with Aston Villa, fans could see Watkins and Mbeumo back together, this time in red shirts. Many supporters are excited about that idea, remembering how dangerous they were together at Brentford.

Some experts say that Watkins could bring the consistency United has lacked in recent years. With Mbeumo’s speed and creativity on the wing, the two could form a deadly partnership.

For now, talks between Manchester United and Aston Villa continue. But with Mbeumo openly pushing for his former teammate, pressure may grow on the club to close the deal.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Old Trafford. Will Amorim get his man? And will the Watkins-Mbeumo duo be reborn?

Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: Mbeumo has made his choice clear, and he wants Watkins at United.
