After finishing fourth in the Premier League and securing the UEFA Conference League title last season, manager Enzo Maresca is expected to make several signings during the summer transfer window.

However, four young players will not be part of the club’s future plans.

Goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom, 22, is leaving after six years at Stamford Bridge. Despite being on the bench during Chelsea’s Conference League final win over Real Betis, the towering 6’9″ Finnish player did not make a senior appearance for the club.

Eddie Beach, 21, another goalkeeper who spent last season on loan at Crawley Town and represents Wales at the U21 level, is also being released.

Luke Campbell, who has been with Chelsea since he was 9 years old, will also be let go.

Additionally, left-back Dylan Williams has departed to join Burton Albion after a solid loan spell there.

Chelsea expressed their appreciation in a statement:
“We thank all four departing players for their contributions during their time at Chelsea and wish them the best in their future careers.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest Chelsea may put as many as 14 players on the transfer list this summer, including Noni Madueke and Joao Felix, according to The Guardian.

In terms of arrivals, the Blues have started the week strongly with the signing of 19-year-old Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg. The promising French defender has agreed to an eight-year deal after an impressive season in Ligue 1, where he made 27 appearances. Sarr played alongside Chelsea loanees Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic and is expected to join the squad for the upcoming Club World Cup.
