Medical professionals at Nakuru County Referral and Teaching Hospital have confirmed that popular TikToker Milly Wa Doc, whose real name was Milcah Nyatuga Murang’a, died as a result of complications linked to her pregnancy.
Milly passed away on Wednesday, June 3, leaving her followers and family in deep sorrow. Speaking to NTV, Dr. James Waweru explained that she was brought to the hospital on May 26 after suffering from intense bleeding and pregnancy complications at around six months gestation.
“She was referred from a private facility around 3:30 p.m. due to heavy bleeding, pain, and an unstable condition,” said Dr. Waweru. “We stabilized her, gave her a blood transfusion, and proceeded with surgery at around 5 p.m. to remove the pregnancy and control the bleeding.”
However, her condition deteriorated after the operation. Dr. Waweru noted that her kidneys began to fail and she showed signs of sepsis. Despite undergoing dialysis and a change in antibiotics, the medical team was unable to save her, and she passed away on June 3.
The hospital’s medical superintendent further revealed that Milly had been hospitalized earlier in April with similar pregnancy complications but left the facility against doctors’ advice. “She was admitted earlier for the same issue but chose to go home. What occurred between the two admissions remains unclear,” he said.
Initially, her family stated that she had died from acute kidney failure.
Milly Wa Doc’s burial is scheduled for June 13, and her family is appealing to the public for support with funeral expenses.
