AC Milan are turning up the heat in the transfer market, and their gaze has landed firmly on North London, specifically, Arsenal. In a surprise twist, the Rossoneri are reportedly lining up a double swoop for two of Mikel Arteta’s defensive options: Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior.

After a turbulent season that saw Milan slump to eighth in Serie A and miss out on European competition entirely, the club’s hierarchy has acted swiftly. They’ve sacked Sérgio Conceição and handed the reins to former Juventus tactician Massimiliano Allegri—tasked with restoring the club’s former glory.

Now, with a renewed focus on tightening their leaky defence, 43 goals conceded last season, Milan have initiated talks with Arsenal, targeting reinforcements that won’t break the bank but offer proven quality.

Top of Milan’s wish list is Oleksandr Zinchenko, who appears to be on the fringes of Arteta’s plans at the Emirates. With Theo Hernandez not fitting into Allegri’s system going forward, Milan are desperate for a new left-back, and Zinchenko ticks all the boxes.

The Ukrainian international, 28, could be available for under £15 million due to his contract entering its final year, a bargain by modern standards. Sources suggest the player wouldn’t demand a sky-high salary either, making the move even more attractive to Milan’s budget-conscious board.

Alongside Zinchenko, Milan are also heavily interested in Jakub Kiwior. The Polish centre-back brings versatility, Serie A experience (thanks to his stint at Spezia), and consistent international exposure with Poland.

While not a regular starter under Arteta, Kiwior has proven reliable when called upon and is seen as an ideal fit to bolster Milan’s backline, especially with multiple defensive departures expected at the San Siro this summer.

According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, a Milan emissary has already flown to London to hold talks with Arsenal over the potential double transfer. While nothing is finalized, the seriousness of Milan’s interest suggests movement could happen swiftly if both clubs align on fees.

This development signals a potentially significant shake-up for Arsenal’s squad as they continue their own summer rebuild. For Milan, it’s a statement of intent, a push to fix last season’s flaws and challenge again at the top.

One thing is certain: Arsenal fans should brace for the possibility of losing two versatile defenders, while Milan supporters might soon welcome a pair of Premier League-proven talents to the San Siro.
