Zimbabwean musician Elvis Dudzai Mhembere, popularly known as Face of Africa, has officially released his new single titled “Munamato” (meaning “Prayer”), a song centered on faith, resilience, and spiritual connection during difficult times.

In an interview with Afrovera.com, the artist explained that the message behind the song is to remind people that prayer remains a powerful refuge in moments of struggle. “This song reflects real-life situations where people go through hardships, but God never abandons them. Whenever we pray, He answers,” he said.

The lyrics of “Munamato” emphasize unwavering faith, with lines such as “Whenever I pray, you answer me” and “Oh Lord, you will never leave me alone,” highlighting a deep sense of trust in divine support.

The track follows his earlier release “Kurira Kwengoma,” which he describes as the foundation of his musical journey. Having spent over 12 years in the music industry, Mhembere revealed that he has faced numerous challenges, particularly financial constraints and lack of promotion.

Speaking to Afrovera.com, he noted that one of his greatest needs at the moment is a promoter or sponsor who can help elevate his career. “What I really need now is someone to help my dreams come true. If that happens, I promise more albums with many songs will follow,” he stated.

He also pointed out broader challenges within Zimbabwe’s music industry, citing widespread copyright piracy as a major obstacle. According to him, many artists depend heavily on live performances for survival, while only those with strong promotional backing manage to thrive.

Looking ahead, Mhembere shared plans to release an upcoming album titled “Ngwara,” which will feature eight tracks. He described “Munamato” as a significant step in his mission to promote African identity through music and bring authentic African sound to the global stage.

The song is now available on platforms including YouTube, where it is steadily gaining attention from listeners who appreciate music rooted in spirituality and African cultural expression.
