Betty’s   green casket  , lowered into a grave lined with white tiles, became the focal point of collective grief as   Bishop Michael Wanderi of CFF   led the final rites. As captured in a Facebook livestream by Kameme TV, family members including her widower,   Tash  , and her daughter   Sky  leaned on one another for strength, with many visibly overwhelmed by emotion.

Standing at the head of the grave, Bishop Wanderi, accompanied by fellow ministers including   Bishop Mwangi Zakayo of Kamutini  , delivered a moving sermon drawn from the   Book of Revelation  , stirring further tears among mourners. He reminded the gathering of the hope promised to those who die in faith.

“Revelation 14:13 says, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them,’” Bishop Michael Wanderi

Wanderi told mourners he believed Betty’s spirit could hear the words spoken in her honour, adding that those who serve God wholeheartedly “find peaceful rest in eternity.” He expressed confidence that Betty known for her unwavering dedication to gospel ministry would receive her heavenly reward.

The bishop then invited all clergy in attendance to participate in the symbolic act of   throwing soil into the grave  , quoting scriptures that emphasise humanity’s connection to dust and the cycle of life and death. Once the grave was partially filled, he ordered that it be cemented before the remaining soil was added.

A solemn moment followed as family members laid flowers on the grave. Present were Betty’s children, her widower Tash, and her ex-partner   Pastor Victor Kanyari  , who also took part in the gesture, standing alongside the family in a rare moment of unity.

Throughout the ceremony, a group of women from the   CFF Church   sang traditional Kikuyu dirges, their harmonies giving voice to the collective sorrow of the community until the very end of the proceedings.

The burial concluded with final prayers shortly before   6:00 pm  , after which mourners quietly dispersed, leaving behind the freshly sealed grave of a woman whose music had touched countless lives.
