Man City Goal Machine Haaland Bombarded with Transfer Pleas After Romantic Trip

Erling Haaland may have been enjoying a romantic getaway in Italy, but the Manchester City goal machine unknowingly ignited a wave of transfer hysteria during his Roman holiday.  

The 24-year-old Norwegian striker, fresh from a demanding season and City’s participation in the Club World Cup, took a break in the Italian capital with his girlfriend, Isabel Haugseng Johansen, who is also the mother of his first child. 

The power couple was spotted strolling through Rome’s historic streets before attending a Dolce & Gabbana fashion event, an experience that left a lasting impression on Haaland.  

Taking to Instagram, where he commands a staggering 37.9 million followers, the superstar shared his admiration for the Eternal City: “Rome is without doubt one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to! And the food? Omg. Incredible. I’m enjoying the summer! Thanks D&G and the city of Rome for making the time here smooth. I love Italy!” 

That single post was enough to send Roma supporters into a frenzy. Fans flooded Haaland’s social media with passionate pleas urging him to make Rome more than just a vacation destination. “If you love Rome so much, come,” one pleaded, while another chimed in with: “Come to Rome, come to Serie A, in the end, it’s not that bad!!!” Even rival fans couldn’t resist, Napoli supporters teased the idea of Haaland joining them, referencing his connection with City teammate Kevin De Bruyne. 

While a move to Serie A might seem far-fetched, especially after Haaland’s recent nine-and-a-half-year contract extension with City, there could be a twist in the tale.  

His father, Alf-Inge Haaland, previously hinted in a 2022 interview that his son aims to conquer every major European league. “Staying in the Premier League for three years and then going to Italy, Spain or France… it’s a possibility,” he revealed, describing Erling as a player hungry to prove himself on multiple stages. 

Whether or not the Rome romance turns into a footballing fairytale remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Haaland’s presence in Italy, even briefly, was enough to shake the transfer rumor mill, Serie A fans are dreaming big, and for a brief moment, the Eternal City believed the Viking might one day wear red and yellow.
