“Gyokeres to Arsenal Changes Everything!” – Man Utd Quietly Win Big in £70M Transfer Battle

Manchester United fans might be happy to hear this news. Even though Arsenal signed Viktor Gyokeres, that move might actually help Manchester United in their hunt for another player, midfielder Morten Hjulmand from Sporting Lisbon. 

Gyokeres, the Swedish striker, used to play under manager Ruben Amorim at Sporting. Many thought Manchester United would sign him before Arsenal completed the transfer. But now, his move to Arsenal might work in Manchester United’s favor. 

Why? Because now Sporting has money in the bank. They sold Gyokeres for a big amount, up to £64 million. That gives Sporting the power to make strong decisions. And they don’t have to rush to sell more players, especially their key midfielder, Hjulmand. 

Manchester United wants Hjulmand badly. But they are not the only ones. Juventus, the Italian giants, are also trying to get him. Juventus has even come up with a swap deal. They want to give Douglas Luiz plus some extra money for Hjulmand. 

But there’s a problem. Douglas Luiz earns about £4.3 million per year. Sporting does not pay that much in wages. That’s too expensive for them. So, even though Juventus is interested, their plan might not work. Sporting may say no to the deal because of Luiz’s high salary. 

This situation is good for Manchester United. They can now take their time. Sporting is not in a rush to sell Hjulmand. They can ask for the full £70 million release clause if they want. That means Juventus may not get him easily, giving United a better chance. 

Even though United has already spent £133.5 million this summer, they are still looking to buy more players. One name on their list is Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. But now, they may focus more on Hjulmand because of this new opportunity. 

Manager Ruben Amorim is also focusing on signing a new striker, which means Sporting might not want to lose another important player like Hjulmand so quickly. Gyokeres’ departure was already a big blow for them. 

Meanwhile, United is trying to sell some of their current players. They want to free up space and money to improve their squad. Some players, like Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, didn’t go on the US tour. They have been training separately at the club’s Carrington training center. 

There are rumors that these players may leave, but Amorim has made it clear: they won’t go for cheap. Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox have set firm prices for these players. 

Amorim said, “If clubs don’t meet the asking price, then the players will stay. No one is going to take advantage of us.” 

He added, “Some clubs may wait until the last minute, but they might be surprised. I’m ready. I’m ready to welcome these players back.” 

So even though it seems like Arsenal won by signing Gyokeres, Manchester United might be the quiet winners here. Sporting now has money and will not easily sell their best players. Juventus is facing financial problems in trying to sign Hjulmand. That opens the door for Manchester United to get their man. 

United still needs to be smart and patient. They can’t spend too much, but if they play their cards right, they might get Hjulmand, a midfielder they believe will make a big difference in the team. 

The next few weeks will be important. The transfer window is still open. Anything can happen. But right now, Manchester United looks like they might come out of this situation with a big win, even if they never signed Gyokeres.
