In a strongly worded post shared on Christmas Day, Huddah questioned why some Christians appear highly enthusiastic during Muslim festivities, only to go silent when the tables turn.

“During Eid, everyone wants invitations, food, photos and good vibes,” she wrote. “But when Christmas comes, suddenly the same people disappear.”
Her remarks immediately ignited heated debate online, with thousands weighing in within hours. While some accused her of stirring controversy during a holy season, others applauded her for saying what many have long whispered but feared to say aloud.

Huddah insisted her message was not an attack on Christianity, but rather a call for honesty and consistency. According to her, interfaith harmony should be genuine, not selective, seasonal, or driven by convenience.

“If we’re truly about unity and respect, it shouldn’t only show up when it benefits us,” she implied.
The post struck a nerve in Kenya’s deeply religious society, where Christians and Muslims have coexisted for generations, often sharing meals, friendships and celebrations. Yet Huddah’s comments exposed an uncomfortable conversation many prefer to avoid, are interfaith gestures driven by goodwill, or convenience?

As Christmas celebrations rolled on, reactions remained sharply divided. Supporters praised Huddah for standing firm and speaking her truth, while critics accused her of oversimplifying deeply personal matters of faith.

Love her or loathe her, one thing is certain: Huddah Monroe knows how to command attention, and once again, she has forced the nation to confront a conversation it can no longer ignore.
