Israel’s military says it has carried out airstrikes targeting the Iranian presidential office and other key government facilities, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation between the two countries.
In a statement posted on its official Telegram channel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its air force launched “multiple munitions” at a building used by senior Iranian officials. According to the statement, the strikes also targeted the headquarters of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the country’s top decision-making body on defense and strategic matters.

The IDF added that additional sites were hit, including military training facilities and what it described as “critical state infrastructure.”
Israeli officials claimed that the complex had previously been used by Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The IDF said Khamenei was killed at his residence late last week during joint US–Israeli strikes — a claim that has not been independently verified.
Iranian authorities have not immediately confirmed the reported strike on the presidential office. There was no immediate comment from Tehran regarding the extent of the damage or potential casualties.
The latest development comes amid sharply rising tensions in the region, following a series of retaliatory attacks involving Israel, Iran, and allied forces. Analysts warn that direct strikes on high-level government facilities could further destabilize an already volatile security environment in the Middle East.
It remains unclear how Iran will respond to the reported attack, but diplomatic efforts to prevent wider regional escalation appear increasingly strained.
