Nairobi, Kenya,  Kenyan music star Akothee has once again shocked her large social-media following, revealing that she was rushed to hospital early this morning after experiencing a night of agonising abdominal pain  which she attributes to seeing a “disturbing video of a young girl” in her home area.

A Night of Agony

In her post, Akothee described how the emotional shock of the video triggered a cascade of physical symptoms. From midnight until around 5:00 a.m., she suffered uncontrollable vomiting, diarrhoea, burning acidity and excruciating stomach pain  stating she felt “as if I literally went into labour.” She reported being on the toilet floor in sheer distress before being found by her children and rushed to an emergency room.

The Heart-Breaking Encounter

Once at the hospital, the ordeal took a further chilling turn: a nurse reportedly dismissed her pleas for pain relief with “Go outside and wait in front there,” even as she lay nearly incapacitated. When Akothee explained that the pain was so intense she “just wanted to die,” the nurse allegedly responded, “You are free to go.” The singer described this as “heart-breaking,” saying she felt helpless, in pain, and yet forced to defend her children who were simply trying to help.

Focusing on Survival

While Akothee said she eventually received medication that provided some relief, her stomach continues to hurt and she remains “tired.” She ended her message with a powerful vow: “May I get well to protect my children.”

Given her large following on social media  she boasts over 4 million Instagram followers.

this health scare and the hospital-care controversy are set to receive wide attention.
