Disney+ has renewed Ryan Murphy’s legal drama All’s Fair for a second season, and much of the conversation surrounding the show continues to centre on Kim Kardashian’s performance and growing influence as an actress. The renewal comes after the series delivered the biggest Hulu Original scripted premiere in three years, despite receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics.
While All’s Fair currently holds a 3% score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, audiences have responded far more positively, giving the show a 66% Popcornmeter rating. A significant part of that audience interest has been driven by Kardashian, whose role has attracted both scrutiny and praise.
On set, Kardashian was not only filming but also completing her law studies, a detail that has impressed several members of the cast. Glenn Close, who stars alongside her, has openly defended both the show and Kardashian’s performance. Speaking to The Guardian , Close said she watched the entire first season and found it “pretty f ing good,” describing it as “juicy, outrageous at times, and touching.”
Close expressed particular admiration for Kardashian’s professionalism and discipline, noting that she often carried flashcards to study between scenes. According to Close, Kardashian balanced her filming schedule with parenting and academic responsibilities. She has since earned her law degree, although she told Close she does not plan to practise, saying she wanted the qualification “in her back pocket.”

The show, created and directed by Ryan Murphy, follows a team of female divorce attorneys who break away from a male-dominated firm to launch their own practice. But despite the wider ensemble, Kardashian remains one of the most talked-about figures in the cast, both for her evolution as a performer and for the unexpected seriousness with which she approached the role.
As the finale approaches and a second season enters production, All’s Fair continues to spark debate—but Kardashian’s presence has undeniably become one of the series’ strongest draws.
