A middle-aged woman has been brutally killed by her boyfriend following a domestic dispute over a missing mobile phone in Viwandani area, Naivasha, Nakuru County.
The tragic incident occurred on the night of December 26, 2025, when an argument erupted inside the couple’s house after the man accused his girlfriend of stealing or hiding his phone. According to police reports, the disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly assaulted the woman repeatedly, inflicting serious injuries. Neighbours who responded to distress sounds later alerted the authorities. Police officers who arrived at the scene found the woman lying unconscious with visible injuries to her face and body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim, identified as Susan Wanjiru Kaluku, was later moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination. The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at a Naivasha police station as investigations continue.
Police say preliminary findings indicate that the killing was triggered by suspicions and accusations over the missing phone, once again highlighting the deadly consequences of unresolved domestic disputes. Authorities have condemned the incident and reiterated calls for peaceful conflict resolution and reporting of domestic violence cases before they turn fatal.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court to face murder charges once investigations are completed.
