Manchester United is in the middle of another intense transfer saga. With the pre-season tour in the United States now finished, the transfer rumors around manager Ruben Amorim’s squad are still going strong. The Red Devils are making headlines as they chase RB Leipzig’s striker Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko, the 21-year-old from Slovenia, is one of the hottest young forwards in Europe. But Manchester United isn’t the only club interested. Newcastle United is also trying hard to bring him to the Premier League. They’ve made a bid, hoping to sign him before Liverpool makes a move for their own striker, Alexander Isak.

However, Newcastle’s offer is still below what Leipzig wants. The German club is asking for more than £70 million to let Sesko go. That price tag is not easy for any club to accept, especially for a player who still has to prove himself fully at the top level.
Even Arsenal showed interest in Sesko earlier this summer. But according to ESPN, they quickly pulled out of the race. Arsenal had what they called “alarm bells” after talking with RB Leipzig. There were three main reasons they backed off.

First, the price was very high. Second, the personal terms demanded by Sesko’s camp were also heavy. Third, there were doubts about whether Sesko could handle the pressure of leading a big club’s attack so early in his career. Despite scoring 21 goals last season, he has only played two years in a top European league.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has made a bold move. They’re open to selling Rasmus Hojlund, the Danish striker they signed for £72 million just last year from Atalanta. His debut season was disappointing. He only scored 10 goals in all competitions and just 4 in the Premier League.
United has now slapped a £30 million price tag on Hojlund, which is less than half of what they paid. The club is even considering a swap deal, offering Hojlund plus cash to bring in Sesko from Leipzig. But there’s a problem.
Hojlund reportedly doesn’t want to join Leipzig. He’s not excited about moving to the Bundesliga, making the swap deal more difficult to complete. Still, Manchester United is pushing forward, hoping something can be worked out.
At the same time, Ruben Amorim’s problems don’t stop at the striker position. There’s drama involving young winger Alejandro Garnacho. Garnacho wasn’t happy after being dropped from the Europa League final, which United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in Bilbao.
After the game, Garnacho openly criticized Amorim’s decision. This caused tension between the two. Amorim responded by saying Garnacho was not part of his future plans and left him out of the US pre-season tour.
The 20-year-old winger is rated at £40 million and now looks set to leave Old Trafford. Amorim did not sound bitter when asked about the situation. He said, “You can see he’s really talented. But sometimes things just don’t work out, and you can’t explain why.”
While Garnacho’s future remains uncertain, United’s focus is on finding a reliable striker. Amorim recently gave Bryan Mbeumo his debut during the US tour, but the club clearly wants more firepower up front.
With the season fast approaching, fans are eager to see how this striker drama ends. Will United land Sesko? Will Hojlund stay or go? Can Amorim rebuild the dressing room after the Garnacho fallout?
The answers to these questions will shape Manchester United’s season. As transfer talks continue, one thing is clear: big changes are coming at Old Trafford.
Stay tuned as the Red Devils play their next move in this high-stakes summer.
