According to reports from The Guardian, Manchester United needs to buy land from a freight company called Freightliner. This land is right next to Old Trafford and is very important for the new stadium plans.
Here’s the problem: Manchester United thinks the land is worth between £40 million and £50 million. But Freightliner says the price should be closer to £400 million. That’s a huge difference.
Because of this disagreement, both sides are at a standstill. The land deal is not moving forward, and without it, the stadium plans cannot continue.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who became a part-owner of Manchester United earlier this year, has not agreed to pay the high asking price. As a result, many fans are worried that the club’s dream project could be cancelled.

He also talked about the long history of Old Trafford, which has been Manchester United’s home for over 115 years. He said the new stadium would keep the spirit of Old Trafford alive, even as it brings modern facilities.
