The Manchester United summer exodus is gaining momentum as both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho continue to be linked with exits from Old Trafford. In the latest twist, Garnacho has stirred speculation after posting a photo of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt, emblazoned with Rashford’s name and number, during a holiday in Ibiza.
The snap, which features the Argentine winger in a Rashford 9 Villa jersey, sent fans into a frenzy. While some speculated about a possible Villa switch for Garnacho, others saw it as a sign of solidarity. Marcus Rashford himself responded to the post with a simple but powerful comment: “My brother ❤️.”

Neither Rashford nor Garnacho appears to be in new manager Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans. Rashford, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa, was frozen out at Old Trafford. Garnacho, meanwhile, found himself sidelined after publicly criticizing his omission from the Europa League final lineup, a move that didn’t sit well with Amorim or club leadership.
Sources close to Garnacho told BBC Sport that the Instagram post wasn’t hinting at a transfer but rather was a gesture of support for Rashford, his long-time teammate and friend.

In a recent interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz, Rashford opened up about his desire to play alongside rising Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, calling the teenager’s mentality “a skill” and saying, “Everybody in the world wants to play with the best.”
He further fueled Barcelona rumors by saying Spain offers an appealing lifestyle and proximity to family, adding weight to reports that the Catalan giants are monitoring his situation. Barcelona sporting director Deco even admitted in May:
“We like Luis [Diaz], we like Rashford, and we like other players… It’s complicated to talk about players under contract, but we know names that can improve the team.”
With Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States fast approaching, time is ticking. Reports suggest both Rashford and Garnacho will be excluded from the squad unless their transfers are finalized in the coming weeks.
Whether the Villa shirt was a fashion choice, a tribute, or a cryptic transfer hint, one thing is clear, big changes are coming at Manchester United, and Rashford and Garnacho may soon be donning new colors permanently.
