The former manager of Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz, Said Mkubwa Fella, is reportedly bedridden as he continues to battle serious health complications an ordeal his wife says has left her emotionally exhausted and financially overwhelmed.
Speaking to local journalists, Sweet Fella broke her silence to shed light on her husband’s deteriorating condition and the difficult reality the family now faces. She explained that many people who once relied heavily on Mkubwa Fella have vanished, largely due to the widespread assumption that Diamond Platnumz is fully supporting the family an assumption she insists is inaccurate.
“I did not come out to speak so that people would repay my husband for the good he did for them,” Sweet Fella said. “I spoke because I want people to understand that I am fighting this battle alone, doing everything possible to make sure my husband gets better.”
She recalled that during Mkubwa Fella’s active years, his phone never stopped ringing. Calls came in late at night and in the early hours of the morning, often from people urgently seeking his help. On occasions when he did not answer, callers would reach out to her, asking that she wake him.
“Today, all those calls have disappeared,” she said, describing the silence as both painful and deeply unsettling.
Sweet Fella revealed that she is now shouldering the full financial burden of her husband’s medical care, despite Mkubwa Fella’s significant contribution to the growth and success of several careers within Tanzania’s entertainment industry.
Addressing the role of Diamond Platnumz, she acknowledged that the Wasafi Records boss did assist by covering the costs of Mkubwa Fella’s medical trip to India last year. However, she noted that the support ended there.
“Diamond knows that Fella is sick. He helped us travel to India for treatment, and for that I am grateful,” she said in a phone interview with Global Online TV . “But after that, there has been silence. I believe he could have done more, and that is why I felt compelled to let people know that I am now on my own.”
The revelations have reignited conversations within Tanzania’s entertainment circles about loyalty, responsibility, and the often-unseen struggles faced by individuals who once played key roles behind the scenes of major success stories.
