Manchester United may be about to bring back a powerful football duo. Ollie Watkins and Bryan Mbeumo, who once lit up the pitch together at Brentford, could soon be teammates again, this time at Old Trafford.

Watkins is now Manchester United’s number one target to strengthen their attack. The club is making serious efforts to sign him from Aston Villa. If the deal happens, he will join Mbeumo, who recently moved to Manchester United from Brentford.

The connection between Watkins and Mbeumo is special. They were part of Brentford’s attacking trio, along with Said Benrahma, during a very successful season in the Championship. That year, the three players scored a total of 59 goals. They almost helped Brentford get promoted to the Premier League.

Watkins’ excellent goal-scoring form earned him a move to Aston Villa. Benrahma went to West Ham and is now playing in Saudi Arabia. Mbeumo was the only one who stayed at Brentford for several seasons before finally joining Manchester United.

Last season, Mbeumo had his best season ever, performing at the highest level. Meanwhile, Watkins also did well, scoring 17 goals for Aston Villa, although his team struggled at times.

Manchester United believes that bringing Watkins and Mbeumo back together could create magic on the field. Their chemistry from the Brentford days could help United’s attack become more dangerous.

Watkins has spoken fondly about his time with Mbeumo. He once said, “Coming from the bottom makes you hungry and you are always striving for more. I’m not surprised that Mbeumo and Benrahma have made it to the top. Hopefully, we can keep going up together.”

These words now carry extra meaning. With Mbeumo already wearing the United shirt, fans are excited about the possibility of Watkins joining him.

United’s transfer strategy this summer is focused on bringing in players who are already used to the Premier League. This is why they signed Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha from Wolves. Watkins also fits that plan perfectly.

Watkins has proven himself in the Premier League. He is known for his energy, pressing, and goal-scoring ability. That’s exactly what United needs to improve their attack.

Negotiations are ongoing. Aston Villa has placed a £60 million price tag on Watkins. But Manchester United hopes they can reach an agreement for around £40 million to £45 million.

If the transfer goes through, Watkins will become one of the biggest summer signings for United. Fans are already imagining the goals he could score with Mbeumo assisting him.

At the same time, Manchester United is also watching other options. One of them is Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. But the German club wants £70 million, and Newcastle United is currently leading the race for his signature.

This makes Watkins a more realistic and affordable target. He is also already proven in the English league, which gives him an advantage.

Reuniting Watkins and Mbeumo could spark a new era at Manchester United. It’s a partnership built on trust, history, and hunger to win.

Bringing them together again may not just help the team score goals. It could also boost team spirit and performance across the pitch.

For now, fans wait eagerly. The idea of a Watkins-Mbeumo link-up at Old Trafford is exciting, and the deal could be one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window.

If Watkins signs, it won’t just be a transfer, it will be a reunion that speaks volumes about friendship, football chemistry, and the dream of rising together.
