Pastor Victor Kanyari, the founder of Salvation Healing Ministries, has disclosed that the main reason he has not remarried since parting ways with his late ex-wife, gospel artist Betty Bayo, is his inability to find a partner who matches her character, maturity, and emotional stability.

Speaking during Betty Bayo’s memorial service on Sunday, November 16, 2025, Kanyari—who shares two children, Dani and Sky Victor, with the late singer—said he prefers to remain single rather than bring instability into his home at a time when his children need him most.

Kanyari noted that the standards set by his ex-wife have made it difficult for him to find someone he considers suitable for marriage. According to the preacher, most of the women he has encountered do not possess the qualities he values in a long-term partner.

“The reason why I have never remarried is that I have never found a woman like Betty Bayo again. The other women I meet are either crazy or lack the qualities I want in a life partner,” he said.

He went on to express skepticism about women within his own congregation, stressing that he prioritizes emotional intelligence and sound judgment.

“I have never met a woman in this church who is mentally stable and whom I would consider marrying. The women in this church are not of sound mind, and I know how to read character,” he added.

Kanyari emphasized that his decision is shaped by his responsibility toward his children, especially after the loss of their mother. Betty Bayo succumbed to acute leukaemia last week, a tragedy that the family is still coming to terms with.

He insisted that he will not expose Dani and Sky Victor to unnecessary drama or negative influence from new partners who may disrupt the peace and stability in their home.

“I cannot take someone randomly to trouble my children or myself. I would rather stay alone. I will stay alone,” he said, underscoring his desire to protect his family from disruptive behavior or the kind of social-media toxicity that, he said, could create tension in his household.
