In a story that shocked social media, a woman has revealed disturbing new messages from a man who has been chasing her for more than 11 years.

The woman, known as @qsallyb on X (formerly Twitter), shared screenshots showing that the man has been begging her to date him since 2014. Despite saying no several times over the years, the man refused to take no for an answer.

Now in 2025, he is still messaging her, hoping she will finally say yes.

What makes the story even more alarming is that the man was once married. After getting divorced, he continued chasing the same woman instead of moving on with his life.

In one of the messages, he wrote: “I have constantly been chasing you since 2014. Han han. 11 years. Shanu mi nau.” This means, “Have mercy on me now.”

But the woman did not find it funny or romantic. She felt disturbed. She shared the messages online, saying, “We are in 2025 & this person is still chasing me. I’ve been saying NO since yet he won’t give up. What makes this funnier is that this person has been married before & is now divorced but it’s still me he wants. God forbid o.”

Her post quickly went viral, and thousands of people reacted online. Many showed concern for her safety. Others were shocked that someone could keep pursuing a woman for over a decade without her showing any interest.

One person said, “Eyes have not heard, ears have not seen, the type of shege (trouble) you will experience if you mistakenly give this person a chance.”

Another user wrote, “This person wants to ruin your life. Nothing else.”

One commenter even questioned the man’s assumptions: “Why is he assuming that you’re still not married after 11 years? That’s a long time.”

Some warned her strongly not to give in. One said, “If you by mistake agree, all your heartbreaks will look like child’s play compared to what this guy will put you through.”

Another person added, “Just block him and threaten him. Except you’re enjoying the chase, but if you mistake it for love, you’ve just ruined your life.”

However, not everyone agreed. One man reminded people that some love stories begin like this. He said, “Is it not on this same app that a woman celebrated marriage to a guy who chased her through all her breakups, and when she finally gave him a chance, boom! Wedding bells.”

Even with that one hopeful opinion, most people thought the situation was scary and not romantic. One woman said, “Men like this are often vengeful. They don’t take rejection well. If you finally agree to date him, he may try to punish you for all the years you said no.”

Another user said the man was holding onto an outdated idea that “real men never give up.” He added, “I used to think like that until I faced serious heartbreak. Now, if a woman gives off any negative energy, I walk away.”

In the end, people advised the woman to block him completely, report him if needed, and prioritize her peace and safety.

This story also sparked wider conversations about personal boundaries and stalking. Many netizens pointed out that persistence is not always love, it can sometimes be obsession.

In another similar story, a lady said she got a message from a random man on WhatsApp. He claimed to know her, but she had no idea who he was. She later shared their chat on TikTok, warning others to stay safe online.

Stories like these show the importance of recognizing red flags in behavior. Just because someone has chased you for years does not mean they deserve your love. Love should be mutual, safe, and respectful.

As for @qsallyb, her firm decision not to entertain the man has earned her a lot of support from people online who hope she stays safe and keeps standing her ground.
