President William Ruto has received the CAF President’s Outstanding Achievement Award, a distinguished honour recognising his notable contribution to the advancement and promotion of football across Africa.
The accolade comes in the wake of a widely followed football event at Kasarani Stadium, where Kenya’s growing influence in the regional football landscape was on full display. The match marked yet another milestone in the country’s efforts to elevate its football profile.
CAF commended President Ruto for his leadership in driving sports development, citing his commitment to modernising infrastructure, expanding youth talent programmes, and encouraging greater investment in the game. According to the organisation, these initiatives have played a crucial role in strengthening football structures both locally and regionally.
The continental football body further noted that Ruto’s vision has helped position Kenya as an emerging host for major African tournaments, reinforcing the nation’s bid to become a central hub for elite football in the years ahead.
