Kenyan digital creator Pritty Vishy has hit back at critics questioning her decision and that of other influencers to undergo cosmetic surgery, urging Kenyans to educate themselves before rushing to judge.
In a series of Instagram Stories, she accused many of speaking from a place of misinformation and misunderstanding.
“ Many of you are so illiterate about this cosmetic surgery thing 🙌. Heeee please, before you comment, just do your own research. Kuna Google, kuna ChatGPT, and more ways to research 🤝, ” she wrote.
She also addressed those who constantly preach natural beauty, making it clear that she does not share that perspective.

“ Kwa my fellow ‘embrace what God gave you,’ it’s okay, but me I will not embrace it 🤝. I can even change my name ooo 😂😂. When you start working on yourself, there’s a joy and love that comes with it 🥺. Kama ujai jichukia, uwezi elewa, ” she said.
Her remarks come months after she publicly revealed through an August YouTube video that she had undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a tummy tuck, and liposuction. The 32-year-old, who first gained national attention as the partner of a popular musician, said the procedures were part of her personal journey toward body confidence.
Her openness sparked mixed reactions nationwide. Supporters praised her transparency and courage, while critics expressed concern about the growing influence of cosmetic trends on younger audiences.
Vishy is part of a growing wave of Kenyan public figures openly discussing cosmetic enhancements, reflecting a shift in cultural attitudes as the stigma around such procedures continues to fade. Influenced by global beauty standards, the rise of visual-driven digital content, and the pursuit of personal branding, more celebrities are now embracing cosmetic work as an expression of self-improvement.
In recent months, Gloria Ntazola revealed she had undergone lip fillers and tummy liposuction. Content creator Tileh showcased his restored hairline in August 2025, and socialite Risper Faith documented her 2024 hair transplant after experiencing postpartum hair loss. Their openness highlights how normalized aesthetic procedures have become within Kenya’s influencer and entertainment circles.
Cosmetic surgery involves elective procedures meant to enhance or reshape appearance based on personal preference. This is distinct from reconstructive surgery, which addresses medical needs, injuries, or abnormalities. Some of the most common body-enhancement procedures include Brazilian Butt Lifts, liposuction, and tummy tucks, which contour specific areas or restore shape after pregnancy or weight changes.
Facial enhancements such as lip fillers, rhinoplasty, facelifts, and jawline contouring remain popular among influencers who rely heavily on digital visibility for their careers.
Among male public figures, hair restoration procedures such as hair transplants, scalp micropigmentation, and other non-surgical density treatments are increasingly common.
Breast-related procedures, including augmentation, lifts, and reductions, are also frequently sought for cosmetic or comfort-related reasons.
Through her posts, Vishy suggested that cosmetic work is a personal decision that brings her confidence and joy, urging critics to understand the subject before forming opinions.
