President Paul Kagame has held a series of high-level engagements in Washington, D.C., where he met with prominent Members of the United States Congress to discuss advancing strategic cooperation between Rwanda and the United States.
According to updates shared by the Rwandan Presidency, President Kagame hosted a dinner with several lawmakers, including Senator Mike Rounds, Rep. Brian Mast, Senator Kevin Cramer, Senator Pete Ricketts, Rep. Ronny Jackson, and Rep. Trent Kelly. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation through key initiatives that support mutual interests.
Photos released from the meeting show President Kagame in cordial, close-range conversations with the legislators, highlighting a warm diplomatic atmosphere and a clear intention from both sides to reinforce long-standing ties. The engagements reportedly touched on ongoing areas of partnership as well as new opportunities for collaboration.
Earlier in the evening, President Kagame also held separate talks with Senator Lindsey Graham, a longtime partner and supporter of Rwanda-U.S. relations. Their meeting focused on deepening cooperation in major strategic pillars, including conservation, security, and economic partnership.
