The origin of the statement remains unclear, but it emerged following widespread speculation about President Kagame’s health, particularly after nearly three weeks without any public appearances.

David Himbara, a prominent Rwandan government critic and former economic advisor to President Kagame who now lives in exile, recently claimed that the President is seriously ill and receiving treatment in Germany.

Taarifa, a Rwandan news outlet, quoted government spokesperson Yolande Makolo, who reassured the public by stating that there is no cause for concern. “The President is doing well and is simply taking regular rest,” she said.

President Kagame’s recent absence from the public eye has continued to fuel discussions on social media and in private conversations.

The AFROVERA attempted to reach the Office of the President for clarification, but no response has been received so far.

The Rwandan military issued a formal statement denying the circulating message, branding it as misinformation.

President Kagame was last seen in public on June 6th, when he received a delegation from Hope Haven Christian School, based in Kigali.
