Shakib Lutaaya has dismissed ongoing speculation suggesting a breakup between him and his wife, Zari Hassan, insisting that their marriage remains intact despite widespread online rumours.
Speaking in an interview with Sanyuka TV, Shakib described the reports of a split as false and misleading. He said there has been no separation and criticised social media users for amplifying unverified claims about their relationship.

The speculation gained momentum in December following an alleged robbery incident at a bar owned by fellow socialite Boss Mutoto in Munyonyo. Shakib was reportedly summoned by police over the matter, prompting online discussions that suggested the incident — and Zari’s friendship with Mutoto had caused friction between the couple.
Shakib, however, dismissed those claims, saying neither he nor his wife has publicly declared a separation. He maintained that just as they did not formally announce the beginning of their relationship, they would not issue statements about unfounded breakup rumours. He urged the public to be cautious about believing everything circulated online.
He also called on journalists and bloggers to verify information before publishing personal stories, emphasising the importance of evidence and responsible reporting.
Responding to allegations that he depends on women financially, Shakib stated that he is self-reliant and operates several businesses that generate his income. He said he does not rely on anyone for financial support.
On claims of infidelity, he maintained that he remains faithful in committed relationships and challenged anyone making such accusations to provide proof. He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to Zari, saying they remain deeply in love and devoted to each other.
Zari Hassan and Shakib Lutaaya formalised their union in 2023 after dating for over a year. They first wed in a private Islamic Nikah ceremony held on April 16, 2023, in Pretoria, South Africa, attended by close family and friends. On October 3, 2023, they hosted a larger all-white wedding celebration in the same city, attracting relatives, friends and several African personalities, with Zari’s five children taking part in the ceremony.
Their relationship became public in early 2022 following Zari’s previous breakup. Over time, the couple frequently appeared together at public events and on social media before officially tying the knot. For Zari, the marriage marked her first formal wedding ceremony, making it a significant personal milestone.
