Sombre mood engulfed as a woman is reported to have died while attending Prophet David Owuor’s end-year crossover crusade held in Nakuru, raising fresh questions over safety and transparency at large religious gatherings.
The incident is said to have occurred on December 30, 2025, during the multi-day crusade held at Technology Farm in Nakuru, an event that attracted thousands of worshippers from across the country.
According to reports, the woman collapsed during the service and later died, although the exact circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear .
Sources quoted by local media claim that the woman’s death was not announced to congregants at the time. Her body was reportedly taken to the Egerton University Funeral Home in Njoro before later being transported to Luanda in Kakamega County. These developments sparked speculation and public concern over how the matter was handled .
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nakuru County confirmed that they were aware of information regarding the alleged death but noted that no formal report had been filed with the police by either the church or the family, meaning the incident was not officially recorded at the time .
As of now, the cause of death has not been established, and no post-mortem results or official medical explanation have been made public. Authorities have also not confirmed whether the death was directly linked to activities at the crusade or due to natural causes .
Prophet Owuor, leader of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, is known for hosting massive healing and miracle crusades that draw huge crowds. The reported death has since triggered public debate online, with calls for clearer accountability, official statements from organizers, and enhanced safety measures at large religious events.
