Mahoro Peace Association, in collaboration with Isoko U.S., has organized a peaceful protest scheduled for April 20, 2026, in Washington, D.C., aimed at condemning the ongoing violence against Banyamulenge and Tutsi communities in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This protest is being organized by several groups, including Mahoro Peace Association and Isoko U.S., with the goal of raising awareness among the international community and world leaders about the insecurity and reported human rights abuses in the region.
The organizers emphasize that the demonstration will be peaceful and intended to deliver a strong message to the international community, calling for urgent intervention to protect civilian lives and put an end to the violence.

In a statement released ahead of the event, they noted that the situation in eastern Congo continues to worsen, with many civilians being forced to flee their homes due to ongoing fighting and reported indiscriminate attacks.
The protest comes at a time when multiple reports indicate that clashes between various armed groups in North Kivu and South Kivu are intensifying, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis and widespread human rights concerns.
Participants are expected to gather in front of key U.S. government buildings to call for increased diplomatic pressure on all parties involved, in order to achieve lasting peace.
The organizers reiterate that peace remains the primary objective, and that the voices of affected communities must be heard at the international level to ensure that the reported violence comes to a definitive end.
